STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION ICON COLLECTION Icon art by Julie Davis and Mark Simmons This is a selection of 13 characters and 4 Borg minions from the television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation," rendered as System 7 custom icons. These icons are suitable for: decorating files, folders, floppy disks and hard disks; illustration; and trading with your friends. This package is an update to the previous release, to which we've added a couple of frequently-requested characters. The world wanted Wesley, and Julie delivered! All characters, mechanical designs, symbols and names are © copyright and trademark Paramount Pictures. Be aware that some online services and BBSes may decline to make these icons available due to copyright and trademark concerns. Otherwise, these icons are offered up to the world, as our way of expressing our enthusiasm for the original work. They are free, and freely distributable. Paramount's policy on online distribution of fan works varies a bit, depending on the online service in question. The policy in effect on America Online is that original works - i.e. drawings, icons, fan-fiction, etc. - are permissible, but sampled sounds and scanned photos are not. By this standard, these icons should pass muster on AOL. Paramount has contacted other online service providers - for example, the administrators of certain areas on CompuServe - and asked that they post no Star Trek-related materials, whether original creations, scans or sound samples. This means that you shouldn't bother uploading these icons to CompuServe, though we appreciate the thought. We (Julie and Mark) have lovingly hand-crafted these icons for the fun of it. They are free, and freely distributable. Please share them with your friends and pass them on in any way that seems appropriate, but please be sure to give credit to us, the artists. We don't mind if you throw these in with a general collection of other icons, but you MUST make sure that our names are attached to our handiwork. We won't look kindly on those who claim they donÕt know where the icons came from, let alone those who slap their own name on our work! And of course, if you like these icons and want to see more; if you have any suggestions or requests; or if you just want to write us a gushing fan letter, you can contact us as followsŠ Julie Davis and/or Mark Simmons Via mail: 1369 Hyde Street #57 San Francisco, CA 94109-3880 Via ZiffNet/Mac or CompuServe: 72511,256 Via Internet: 72511.256@compuserve.com
